Jeff B. Goudreau, M.D., FACP

Medical Director, The Travel Doctor

Dr. Goudreau is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Sports Medicine and Adolescent Medicine. He has been a physician with Medical Specialists Associated in Dallas, Texas since 1989. He received a B.A. in Chemistry from Baylor University, and subsequently attended Medical School at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston followed by his Internal Medicine Residency at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. Dr. Goudreau is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Dallas County Medical Society, and International Society of Travel Medicine.

Dr. Goudreau’s patients appreciate his thoroughness and enthusiasm for preventive medicine. He spends time getting to know his patients and promotes a personalized healthy lifestyle program. His varied travel experiences and ability to speak English and fluent Spanish add extra value to his Travel Medicine program.

For the past 30 years, Dr. Goudreau has served as the physician for numerous sports teams, most recently traveling the world with the USA Water Polo Women’s National Team (World Champions and Olympic Gold Medalists) and Men’s National Team. In years past, he served as Team Physician for USA Basketball, USA Volleyball, Baylor University, Dallas ISD, Naaman Forest High School, and Lake Highlands High School. Recognized for his expertise in adolescent, sports and travel medicine, Dr. Goudreau frequently appears as an on-air medical expert for television Channels 4 and 11 in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.

An avid traveler himself, he has visited all continents (except Antarctica) with his wife and children, which lends familiarity to the questions and concerns of world travelers. He enjoys playing oboe and piano and has volunteered internationally with the World Doctors Orchestra (performing concerts to benefit worldwide medical aid projects) and nationally with the Medical Musical Group (with concerts benefitting our Veterans). He has traveled to compete in Ironman triathlons and has firsthand knowledge of the importance of staying healthy while traveling. While at home Dr. Goudreau is an enthusiastic pastel, watercolor and acrylic artist, with several of his paintings having been awarded ribbons at the Texas State Fair.
